skate journal: stupid wind sick post-premiere funk parking garage with neil and rob (Dec 15, 2013)

Got so bloody sick for the Null premiere. I guess the previous weekend of all night editing and cold Broncos game got to me. Ugh. What a rough few days. Fever, chills, nerves, anxiety. All made much worse at the premiere by trying to kill it with whiskey. Argh. Low and behold on Sunday I felt slightly better and got out to skate for a short one with Neil and Rob. We tried to wax up and skate this glorified curb I had in the back of my head for awhile, but we got booted. Probably a good thing considering how stupid windy it got. So we went to a mostly closed in parking garage off Valmont. I was so rusty. So incredibly rusty that I took like 5 tries to get a kickflip. Rob killed it. Back lips, manuals with back 180 out, back 270 front lip. So rad. Neil was buzzing around as normal. Nose mannies, mannies, bluntlides, and of course ollie’ing over stuff. The trash can above was not easy for him, so rad. I hucked a lot mainly because I couldn’t land much. Got close to switch heels again. Man that would rule. No complies over parking blocks, slappy crooks, super slow bad flip tricks. Almost got slappy front feeble on a parking block. Ended with a slow nollie tre that hyped me up and even though I was the sick one I decided to not keep Rob and Neil there any longer since they were already sitting. Can’t wait to feel better on my board again.

skate journal: The video is done I can skate again. Rampy solo (Dec 10, 2013)

Posted in Skate Journal on December 11th, 2013 by corpo

Went out on Rampy kind of motivated to skate the tranny, but I just ended up skating the flat for the most part. I had a couple runs on the ramp with nothing special. I had put some thicker insoles in my shoes, some NB+ onces. They felt good for flippers and I ended up landing a lot. Kickflip, pop shoves, heelflip, varial flip, b/s flip, f/s flip, halfcab flips, treflip, double flip, f/s halfcab heel. Couldn’t get close to switch flips, nollie flips were somewhat close. Started hucking switch heels and out of the blue got surprisingly close. That would be sweet, never done one before.

skate journal: Rampy will Ollie and flatground fun (Dec 4, 2013)

ollie-5-0

On a really cold night Ollie and I headed out to Rampy. What’s this, Ollie skating 3 times in a weekish? Awesome. We skated the tranny for awhile. He had some moves, I did a few basics, then he was done and I felt like doing flip tricks. The goal was 10 flip tricks and they came kinda (except heelflips). Kickflip, fakie flip, varial flip, fakie varial flip, heelflip, 360 flip, b/s flip, f/s flip, halfcab flip, f/s halfcab flip, first try double flip. Tried switch flips for a long time and got super close. Tried inward heels for awhile and actually made it flip good. Flatground is fun.

skate journal: impromptu fun session at Broomfield (Dec 2, 2013)

Got home and went to editing a bunch of stuff. Well, converting files and gathering bonus material. Carleigh and Skelly said they were going to Broomfield park, it wasn’t as windy out as they were saying, Ollie said he wanted to skate, so it was on. And it ended up being a blast. My deck was getting more and more cracked on each trick. Carleigh was trying front tails on the brick qp and skating with Andrea. Skelly was tuned in to his own world and ripping. Ollie was pushing mongo behind me where ever I went. He had some nice body varials on the steep bank, rocks all ways on the quarta potty, and ollied onto a couple of the smaller ledges. I was kind of all over the place. Oh yeah, I had some new shoes. Kind of by accident as I forgot to change before skating.

Etnies RCT. But in actuality my Romero shoes were pretty much done anyway. I didn’t really do much other then ollie the six stair first try behind Skelly that I remember, but somehow it was a blast. Carleigh almost got back disasters on the quarta potty. Skelly did a nice f/s flip on the ollie up bank. I got a boneless on it that felt good. Nice way to enjoy the last warm/dry evening in awhile.

skate journal: filmer glen last day???? (Dec 1, 2013)

I was so tired. So tired after two days of editing/filming/staying up so late. While Chad warmed up I worked up to a line of no comply 180, sw 180, kickflip. That’s it. Then I filmed Chad try his hardest and come up short. Doh.

skate journal: fort morgan filmer glen fun (Nov 30, 2013)

One of the last days of filming for Null and after a late night of editing at Chad’s we (Chad, Jack, Max and I) got up and basically left right after we woke up for Fort Morgan. First spot was the skatepark/tennis wall. I played a game of SKATE that really sucked for me. I was pink slipped. I wasn’t feeling too good or motivated anyways. The Nullers ripped the park for awhile then we went to the school where I filmed some neat stuff. We hit a few other spots, skated a little, drove around, ended up at a really fun speed bump and flat bar spot. Everyone was cruising around and having fun. I tried a few flippers over the bump. Got b/s flip pretty quick then failed at 3 flips for a long time. Max was even trying to loan me one of his. Jack did some cool pop shove hot dogs. Chad filmed a bangin line. Then I got the 3 flip kind of with Max filming and Jack and Chad trying to one up me or something. It was a blast.
