skate journal: failing at backside bonelesses at louisville park (may 10, 2015 day 126)

Luckily we didn’t get as much snow as they had predicted and what we got had mostly melted off the streets. Ollie’s birthday party was still going on and they wanted to go swimming at the Louisville Rec center. So I really hoped that the park would be dry and I could skate while they swam. And it was! Well, mostly, there were some little puddles when I first got there and really only the hip wasn’t skateable. I started by trying backside bonelesses for quite awhile. That trick SUCKS! Ha ha, I cannot do it. I managed a couple where the tail never left the ground, but they aren’t anything I could avoid a letter with in the insta game of SKATE. Around this time a biker showed up. Turned out it was Chad L! So stoked to see him! He mostly cruised the snake run. At one point I was kind of trying to ollie up the euro since I’m supposed to ollie something for the insta game as well. I couldn’t try it fast enough to make it. Chad got it on his bike though. Then I gave up on the boneless and just skated for fun. Got up on the front 50s on the main ledge pretty easy. Had some front 180s out, no shoves out though and some accidental 5-0s of course. A back 50 or two, back crooks and almost kick back 50s. Had a good feeling heelflip on flat. The puddles in front of the hip dried up so I skated it for a bit. Got a line of kickflip over the backside hip then turned around and did a backside flip over the fs hip. Stoked! Then I did a treflip on flat, a really slow front tail on the low part of the ledge and then had to go pick up the kids. Pretty sure I’ll be getting a letter on the backside boneless.
