skate journal: gunbarrel spots with dave and fuzz (jan 28, 2017 day 17)

Did paperwork for Jason in the morning, then helped train a new helper for Jason. I wasn’t hyped on it. Mainly I feel like I’m always on call and it’s wearing on me. I skated to/from Jason’s. On the way back I skated as fast as I could push down the path. It was fun. I felt good. Then I met Fuzz and Dave at the old mini bank and tall ledge spot. Warming up was rough as wind had picked up. My legs felt done before we even started. Fuzz and I did a lot of the same spin around on the bank to try and get the legs flowing. We all tried bean plants for awhile. Dave’s was the best. No surprise there. Dave started a caveman 50 trend on the ledge. That thing is tall! I was trying a line of caveman 50, kickflip on the little bank, then noseslide on the ledge. The kickflip never happened. Argh. I can’t believe how bad I struggled with kickflips. Dave was going off and did a crazy line of polejam out of the bank, turn around then nollie into the bank then caveman 50. He did front 180 out and also back 180 out! Fuzz front boarded it. So sick. Even though it hurt his shoulder. We messed around for awhile in the back of the building. Made a little junk jam ledge. Dave had some solid back 50s and got into some front lips. Fuzz was taking photos. I did a couple slow front 50s and ‘slappy’ tails. Then we drove around for awhile. Ended up at a school that had potential, but the snow or gravel kind of ruined it. Fuzz had a great slam trying to front 50 a mini table. Dave managed a 50. I could barely move at that point, but eventually got a tiny crook jib. And when we left I was trying to do a little plant off a ledge and hung up. It hurt way more than it should have. Ugh. I hate winter.
