skate journal: game of SKATE then red hawk with dave (feb 12, 2017)

Feeling incredibly sore Jake came over later in the afternoon and we played a game of SKATE in front of my house. I had put some thinner insoles in because the Nike ones were just too much. I ended up skating terribly though, not committing to much of anything. Jake had a nice 3 flip early in the game that got me a letter. As well as basically any trick he landed. I ended up losing on a varial flip. A varial flip! Argh. Then I went to Red Hawk to meet Dave. I was so sore. I stretched for awhile and it seemed to help. Both Dave and I really struggled to warm up. It’s nice skating with other “older” people sometimes. We ollied up the stairs sideways as a warm up. That was a really good way to get things flowing. I rolled off the stage a few times too to try and jolt the legs into warming up. Tried a line for awhile of ollie onto the downhill rock then back 180 off, switch noseslide, switch boardslide. The switch noseslide only made me feel dumb. Going the other way I wanted to do a line of crooks, then ollie onto a rock then a nollie tre. Never got the ollie onto the rock. Doing crooks felt good and there was a period where I felt decent physically. I failed at front and back 50s though. Ridiculous. Had some good feeling switch front noseslides and some embarrassing slams. Dave ended up skating pretty well. Nothing new there. Front 50, front 50 back 180, almost front 50 back big out, back 50, noseslide and his new back 180 fakie feeble 180 out. He does it so good.
