skate journal: broomfield morning with a stellar crew (july 13, 2019)

On a warm morning I drove to Broomfield to meet up with Kevin, Rob, Fuzz, Eric, Dave L. I was late. I’m always late. But I did have a good reason this time (helping my daughter get ready for a funeral). I played a game of SKATE with Dave L and Kevin to get warmed up. Kevin smoked us. We had a few tricks until Kevin got loose and then it was over with the nollie/switch flips. Looked like Dave L could get both those, but didn’t land them. Rob was in demo mode. Straight killing it. 50 180s, manuals, front noseslides. Dave L had some cool manual combos. Manual the blue bank sideways to quick nose manual up the brown ledge. Kevin was killing the ledges as he does. Back tail, switch crooks, switch nosegrind 180, etc. Eric has been charging hard lately. Crooks, back 50s, heelflips, skating fast, looking good. I was stoked to see Fuzz. He chilled awhile, but got things going. I was struggling so I just started hucking switch front noseslide shoves. Kevin wanted to film it so I kept trying. I got a bad one kind of quick, but never a clean one. Some felt so good though. Fuzz got some fakie 50 halfcabs, fakie nosegrind 180s. Then I filmed Kevin get a sick line of switch flip into the bank, a couple ledge tricks and then a nollie tre out of the bank. Wow. Then we were off to 303. Fun morning. Great dudes.
