Husband joke

Posted in Random Funniness on June 5th, 2009 by corpo

I get a lot of jokes emailed throughout the day.   Most are lame.   This one though, I laughed. Even Liz laughed so it must be decent. How a good husband should be…..Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company’s Christmas Party.   Jack is not normally a drinker, but the drinks didn’t taste like alcohol at all.   He didn’t even remember how he got home from the party.   As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong.  Jack had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table.   And, next to them, a single red rose.   Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed.   He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean.   So is the rest of the house.   He takes the aspirins, cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror.   Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick:”Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to get groceries to make you your favorite dinner tonight.   I love you, darling! Love, Jillian”  He stumbles to the kitchen and sure enough, there is hot breakfast, steaming hot coffee and the morning newspaper.   His son is also at the table, eating.   Jack asks,  “Son… what happened last night?””Well, you came home after 3am, drunk and out of your mind. You fell over the coffee table and broke it, and then you puked in the hallway, and got that black eye when you ran into the door”.Confused, he asked his son, “So, why is everything in such perfect order and so clean?  I have a rose, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me??” His son replies, “Oh THAT!… Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you screamed, “Leave me alone, I’m married!”Broken Coffee Table $239.99Hot Breakfast $4.20Two Aspirins $0.38Saying the right thing, at the right time……? >> priceless

skate journal: Fun Rampy session with Jake (June 3)

Posted in Skate Journal on June 4th, 2009 by corpo

Was having a blast playing tennis with Ollie and got a call from Jake while walking home wanting to skate Rampy.  Word!  After only about 10 months of owning Rampy I finally started quickly like I’ve skated it before.  Got lots of my tricks real quick and had a good time.  At the end of the session Jake and I raced for gummy bears to tricks we were working on.  He was trying front feeble.  I was trying fakie back pivot to fakie.  He got his first try after making the deal.  It took me about 10 more tries.  I owe Jake gummy bears.  Yeah!

skate journal: solo red curbs session (June 2)

Posted in Skate Journal on June 3rd, 2009 by corpo

Haven’t been able to really skate in awhile and decided a solo red curbs session was in order.  As much as I sucked it up, it didn’t disappoint.  For whatever reason I went there thinking about a couple dumb little lines.  Like kickflip up and off the manny pad, ollie over a yellow bar and then 180 it without pushing, and finally a kickflip front 50 on the curb followed by a lipslide.  A parked scooter made the kick front 50 not an option so that line was out immediately.I started off real slow.  Insanely slow.  It took me at least 10 minutes before I could try a kickflip.  It was rough.  I eventually got into somewhat of a groove and landed a few things like front tails on the taller curb (yes, I call it the taller curb because it’s like 2 inches taller than the other curb and therefore tall), nose manny the manny pad, kick back tail the low curb etc.  I then kinda tried a few lines over and over.  One was crooks the ledge, back 50 the tall curb then kick back tail the low curb.  Never got all three.  I got the ollie over the yellow bar followed by 180 over it pretty quick.  Toward the end I was beat, but wanted to try some flippers.  So I did the kickflip up the taller side of the manny pad and kickflip off.  Tried to back it with a 360 flip but never got close.  Tried a bunch of nollie flips and never got those.  No surprise.  The other line I was trying was no comply 180, fakie flip, fakie big flip, fakie bigspin up the manny pad, front shove off.  Got it all but the front shove off.  And they all looked horrible.  Pretty hyped.  Didn’t really skate that well, but I skated really hard and needed a solo session to get my skate going again.

Psycho Unity This should have been up awhile ago, but I’ve been distracted by so many things.  Nuggets, skateboarding, family visits, installing a new dishwasher, etc.  But either way, here we are, Psycho Unity flipping the bird while saying I Love You.  Classic!  Only one more Psycho Unity to go!

skate journal: tired downtown session with nate (May 31)

Posted in Skate Journal on June 1st, 2009 by corpo

Super tired, fighting a cold and haven’t really skated in days.  Perfect recipe for sucking which is exactly what I did.  I met Nate at St Julien for a late night downtown boulder session.  The lights there don’t work as well as they used to.  I didn’t even really have energy to try flip tricks and just tried front tails on the ledge.  I may have landed 1 or 2 slow ones.  Nate killed a bunch of good ones.  Next up we did flippers into a downhill parking ramp which ended up being pretty fun.  Nate did good tricks like nollie f/s flip, switch front heel.  I did slow-moving-no-pop tricks like varial flip, halfcabl flip and fakie flip.  The powerslide at the end of the ramp was the funnest part of the night.  We left after that, but not before skating a real jersey barrier (aka, no tranny at the bottom).  I did a couple wallrides and a wallride to fakie.  Nate went crazy and did a rock fakie on it.  So sick.  Gotta skate downtown on Sunday nights more often, it was dead.  Kinda like me.

skate journal: Rampy with my brother (May 30

Posted in Skate Journal on June 1st, 2009 by corpo

My brother was in town with his family and decided to try and remember what skateboarding was.  It took him a bit but he got rock ‘n rolls, rock fakie, tail stall and a little scratch grind.  Rad.  I got most of my tricks and it was a fun little session.
