Woke up pretty early on a cool morning and had the day off work.\u00a0 Went to dog park around 8:30.\u00a0 Dave L would show up around 9.\u00a0 I had changed to the wider axles and cast baseplate.\u00a0 They were fine for grinds, but not fine for flip tricks.\u00a0 I skated alright though.\u00a0 Nothing really stands out, but I was pretty much where I left off the last time.\u00a0 Dave was quickly displaying how casually he can pop over things.\u00a0 Nollie the small metal ledge, 180 the wallie wedge, etc.\u00a0 I had some good slams as did Dave.\u00a0 For awhile we tried to kickflip the wallie wedge.\u00a0 Well, I say ‘try’, but Dave actually did it.\u00a0 I got a couple ollies over where I barely scraped.\u00a0 I posed kickflips for awhile and felt close for a bit, but got tired.\u00a0 Dave had done some long lines.\u00a0 Nollie lip some parking blocks, nollie the little metal ledge, front smith the cinder block ledge.\u00a0 I had tried a line of manual then crooks shove, but couldn’t get the crooks to grind.\u00a0 Got a first try fakie nosegrind on the mini cinder block ledge.\u00a0 I tried to boardslide all of the 4 parking blocks in a row, but came up short. After Dave did the kickflip over the wallie barrier we chilled for a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then a couple hours later we were at Douglass.\u00a0 It was very bright, but oh so nice out.\u00a0 Jake would join us.\u00a0 I had changed my setup.\u00a0 This time venture lows with 1\/8 riser to make them a mid truck.\u00a0 They felt dreamy.\u00a0 Once again I was amazed at how causally Dave was popping over and onto the ledges.\u00a0 He manualled one!\u00a0 And some front 50s and would eventually nose manual one.\u00a0 He also was doing cool drop down the curb then up the curb lines.\u00a0 Nollie front 180 to switch manual was hot.\u00a0 Jake quickly front 50d the ledge and worked up to a f\/s haflcab nosestall.\u00a0 I did a few of the best crooks I’ve done there.\u00a0 Also some noseslides, really bad halfcab\u00a0noseslide and switch front nose.\u00a0 Flip tricks were much easier.\u00a0 At one point I did a halfcab\u00a0flip followed by a heelflip.\u00a0 That hasn’t happened in awhile and it felt great.\u00a0 I was thrown off on other flippers because of the setup feeling so different.\u00a0 I couldn’t get the front 50, but I did finally get an ollie onto the ledge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I stopped by the curbs since Dave F was there.\u00a0 I tried to get it going, had a few fun slappies, but gave up when I was way to sore to try a 360 flip.\u00a0 Dave was ripping. Back tail shove.\u00a0 Well, ride up the curb cut then go into back tail on the curb and shove.\u00a0 Still sick.\u00a0 He also had halfcab\u00a050, switch crooks, lots of front shoves into the curb cut, halfcab\u00a0flip, varial flip, slappy crooks to fakie to quick switch nose to quick nose 270.\u00a0 Then he hippy jumped a scooter on the way out!\u00a0 Unreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
