skate journal: solo blue skies. learned wallride/nollies! (jan 15, 2016 day 15)

wallie nollie whatever feels like slappy crooks

Early lunch solo on a cool day (low 30s). Warming up was a battle as usual. Something about that place makes warming up hard. I did a couple more of those wallie/nollie things while holding on then tried it without holding on and landed one! Then I landed every one after that. I was hyped! So I solo filmed one. I’ve wanted to learn that trick for a long time. It feels just like slappy crooks. Then I tried a line for awhile. Halfcab flip on flat, crooks up an escalator ledge, turn around on the bank and back 50 up an escalator ledge. After a couple good feeling halfcab flips I tried with heelflip. Never got the line. Close though. The main bank wasn’t really skateable due to yesterdays wind causing snow to drift in. Other stuff, front 50 shove on the regular ledge, halfcab noseslide on it, almost noseslide shove on the tall middle ledge, 0-10 on treflips, couldn’t ollie onto the tall middle ledge. Learning the wallride nollie made up for the rest of the sucking.
