skate journal: boulder park before work (nov 8, 2018)

On a cool morning I went to Boulder park before work. It was cloudy out and I was enjoying it. I didn’t have a plan and I had the whole park to myself so I was all over the place. I never really stuck to anything for awhile, just going all over trying random things. I spent a little more time in the halfpipe area as Dave had challenged me to kickflip rock fakie. I realized I haven’t even done a rock fakie on anything other than the quartapotty in a very long time. I tried a few kickflip rock fakies. They seem doable. Maybe on something a little lower would be better for me. I’m a chicken. I kinda tried a line for awhile. Crooks down the hubba (I would only grind about a foot at the most), back noseslide the bump to ledge, kickflip the little kicker, roll in to the tiny part of the bowl, then flyout ollie over a grocery cart. I wasn’t able to commit to the roll in or fly out. Doh. I took a few tries to get a slow front 50 across and down the ledge. Last thing I tried was a little hip line. Frontside ollie (after rolling down the bank they were scary going that fast), turn around backside ollie, turn around, b/s flip the hip. Got a slow one in about 10 tries. It still felt cool though.
