skate journal: dog park urgency before the snow (nov 25, 2019)

Had the day off work. It was cold and you could feel the storm approaching. I met Dave L there after dropping the duty phone at work. Eric would join and randomly so would Aki. I had done like an hour worth of exercises the night before in hopes of being less sore. It worked for a good hour or so. Dave was already 50’ing the benches easily. There was a dude there with really great style working on fast/tall kickflips/treflips. It was rad. Warming up went alright for me. I continued with back 50s on the low step that felt good, got a front 50 shove on the bench, struggled with all flip tricks. Eric started on his cruiser did some wallie 180s, 50s and whatnot before getting out the Ishod and taking it serious. Ha. He has such a mean heelflip. Aki said he hasn’t been skating much lately, but he was still ripping. He quickly got to back and front 50s on the benches, lotsa kickflips. I was all over the place, but started focusing on the noseslide 270 shove on the black ledge. I landed on it once and had a pretty good slam. After that I was pretty sore and didn’t skate much. I then went and visited Dave F in the hospital. Sketchy situation, but he’ll be fine.
