skate journal: beginner pole jam and new plaza spot with cass on a hot saturday (june 27, 2026)

Started a little slow, but got to Denver before it got too hot. Cass had noticed this crazy pole jam. It was in this weird parking lot next to a road and I could not get it going. I felt so off. Cass grinded it first try. Would go on to get some front boards which is pretty cool. I would eventually boardslide it after several embarrassing baby steps to get there.

Then we were driving and saw this other random new plaza spot that ended up being super fun. It was basically a one up then two down, but with a lot of options. We skated and we checked it out, settled in trying stuff. I had some kickflips up the curb, managed to ollie onto the ledge once. Tried some b/s flips down and almost committed. Cass filmed me try a line of kickflip up, no comply shove on flat, pop shove the 2 which I landed on, but didn’t ride away from before the heat became too much. Cass had some some amazing kickflips over a curb to front shove up. I really wish I could have gotten that line, but the heat was too much and I hadn’t eaten. Then we checked out a nearby kicker that could be fun.
