skate journal: Ft Collins is fun for skating (Friday July 18)
Posted in Skate Journal on July 23rd, 2008 by corpoHeaded up to Fort Collins with Brian, Jason, Lazer and Gabe to skate a new “bowled in” mini that Skelly invited us to. Got there a bit late but it ended up being a blast. Brian and Lazer killed it. Christopher was there and he and all the young rippers killed at too. I got a few basic tricks, but had fun doing them. It’s nice having finally learned back 50s.Next we went to a bank to ledge that’s been around forever. Took awhile to get warmed up, but Jason, Skelly and I were the only ones that really skated it. Brian and Lazer tried to sleep in the car. Those dudes are really old. Especially Lazer, he’s like 45 years old already. At the end Sean was trying to no comply the ledge, I was trying to kickflip axle stall and Jason was going for back tail revert. The loser was to buy Gatorade for everyone. Sean got his trick and I got his back. Jason didn’t and he didn’t buy us Gatorade. Huh.Late night skating is the best.

The Nebraska state motto is “The Good Life” and I’m pretty fond of Nebraska these days so buying this hat was a must.
Upon further inspection of the hat it’s got some famous people in the lining like Slick Rick, HR from Bad Brains, some dude from Gwar and more people I don’t know about that Sam from
Speaking of Cornhuskers, if you are ever in Nebraska you have to play the Cornhusker game. It’s like Slug Bug, but with Nebraska Huskers logos. Anytime you seen anything Huskers you punch the person next to you in the arm and say ‘Huskers’. Prepare to have a sore arm because entire families dress in Husker gear out there. Seriously it’s insane, half the trailer hitches on pickup trucks have little Husker stickers on them as well. It’s insane.
The whole Real team is sick, but Busenitz is like way up there in my skate nerd godliness. I was at 303 the other day and they were building a crazy quickcrete bowl/ramp/banks/hips/ledges little skatepark that looks pretty much fun as hell. Can’t wait to watch them skate it.
