skate journal: Rampy with Ollie (March 11, 2010)

Posted in Skate Journal on March 12th, 2010 by corpo

Fell asleep on the couch after dinner and was awoken by Ollie asking if I wanted to skate Rampy with him.  Yes!  I had easily the best first run I’ve ever had on Rampy.  I don’t remember the exact tricks, but it was a good run for me period.  Ollie was skating pretty good.  He looks so natural on a board now.  He was doing his typical willy grinds, scratch grinds, rock fakies, tail stalls, fakie ollies, body varials and having fun.  I had some more good runs for me.  Front 50s and front tails were fun as were fakie pivot fakies.  I managed to land a hurricane for the first time in awhile.

Nike Omar Salazar Shoe Release Party Photos

Not sure how Brian did it, but since he is so tight with El Vortex he got an “El Vortex +9” put on the Nike party list.  We were hyped to say the least and determined to drink as many free drinks as we could on Nike’s tab.Fuzz and Neil beers in hand posing with the new Salazar shoe.It took Brian three tries to get this photo of me just right.  Photo evidence that I am an idiot and set my beer on the display.  The shoes look pretty sick actually.  I don’t like mids though.  Oh, and I have this huge thing against Nike too, but man, that’s getting harder and harder to stick to these days.Nike went all out.  Custom alien head men’s room sign. After beating me in the pizza eating contest the night before Brian was on a victory lap chowing down cupcake after brownie.  He was probably bragging about his victory to Smurfette.Brian eating again and fanning out on Bryce Kanights.Brian and Terry knee deep in the hooplaTwo bands played.  One was Shrine Builder.  I thought they were decent.... But Lazer loved them!Okay, he really loved them.  And so did Sandy.  Rock out!Did I mention that Peter Hewitt thought I was Forrest Griffin?  Well, he did.Around 4:00 am now.  After Fuzz threw his shoes at a cab we figured we better head in.  Lazer wanted to see if his new Shrine Builder record was black vinyl or not.  Nope, it was crazy pink/purple/red vinyl we yelled loud to celebrate. No one moved.  Oh well.  Insanely fun night.
