skate journal: Broomfield park with Carleigh, Max, Sean and new shoes (June 17, 2011)

I’ve completed my second week of standing all day at work. It’s not easy and I was tired. After a trip to Meta to sell some boards and then to pick up Carleigh (since she had gotten in a fender bender) we went to Crisis. I have been complaining a lot about my Fushioned Square Two’s and Fuzz had gotten some of the regular ones in and had ordered an extra pair for me. I guess your friends know what’s best for you as they felt great the second I put them on. We were watching the new Transworld video when Max and Sean walked in. Stoked. After another viewing of the video we went to Broomfield park. Carleigh and I were both super tired and she had more reasons to be out of it. Max and Sean were killing it as usual. Max ollied the square rail down to the middle of the double set then back 180’d the second set. In reality, that isn’t possible. Carleigh was mostly just trying no comply 180s as she has never really landed one. She got close. I don’t remember doing much of anything until Sean, Max and I skated the longer banked manny pad. Max did ollie up, 360 flip to switch manual down. Ridiculous. He was also being insanely fun and awesome to everybody. Max rules. At one point Max was like “3 flip now Glen!” and somehow I landed it. Loving the new shoes! He was also doing 360 flips with his hands in his pockets. It was funny. Sean and I did kickflips like that which was weird enough. I took awhile to finally get the ollie up to rock to b/s flip out. At the end of the session I also managed to do a bigflip out. It wasn’t pretty though. So bad in fact that Carleigh made sure not to acknowledge it. Oh well, it was a fun little tired session.
