skate journal: more downtown boulder lotta spots and some fun (april 22, 2026)
Posted in Skate Journal on April 23rd, 2026 by corpoWent downtown around sunset after a long day of work. Started at Canyon Center. Felt very off. Did a really silly warm up line of nollie back tail a weird curb, wallie nollie, noseslide a terrible bench, nollie front tail a curb. Moved on to the little ledge by the old Med. Did some nose stalls and got some axle stalls both ways. Cruised around for a while, ended up at WF banks. Did quite a few basics before trying the back 50 revert to halfcab flip. Which took too long, but it felt really good to do. While trying it a WF night guy talked to me about Rodney Mullen and how he used to skate. It was cool. The blunt to axle to then b/s flip was pretty quick. After that went to the Canyon ledge, but it just hurt my feet and I went to leave. But I saw the weird window sill that I wanted to ride around. It did not come easy and I had multiple silly falls like that. I wasn’t going to film it because I thought it was too dumb (which it is), but at least the slam is funny. All in all a fun night, street skating is so rewarding.
