skate journal: sunday sore dog park with 98 (june 28, 2026)

Posted in Skate Journal on June 29th, 2026 by corpo

Took a bit again to find some motivation, but I eventually did and I went to dog park and met up with a large amount of 98ers. I skated okay. Was probably too sore to be skating, but I tried. Had some average stuff, could not get a treflip yet again. Squeeks was ripping front boards. Collin with the cool noseslide to fakie manual. Ladd and Dan’s game of SKATE was amazing. Alexi put some good lines together.

skate journal: beginner pole jam and new plaza spot with cass on a hot saturday (june 27, 2026)

Posted in Skate Journal on June 29th, 2026 by corpo

Started a little slow, but got to Denver before it got too hot. Cass had noticed this crazy pole jam. It was in this weird parking lot next to a road and I could not get it going. I felt so off. Cass grinded it first try. Would go on to get some front boards which is pretty cool. I would eventually boardslide it after several embarrassing baby steps to get there.

Then we were driving and saw this other random new plaza spot that ended up being super fun. It was basically a one up then two down, but with a lot of options. We skated and we checked it out, settled in trying stuff. I had some kickflips up the curb, managed to ollie onto the ledge once. Tried some b/s flips down and almost committed. Cass filmed me try a line of kickflip up, no comply shove on flat, pop shove the 2 which I landed on, but didn’t ride away from before the heat became too much. Cass had some some amazing kickflips over a curb to front shove up. I really wish I could have gotten that line, but the heat was too much and I hadn’t eaten. Then we checked out a nearby kicker that could be fun.

skate journal: greeley peak view fun for dave’s 58th birthday! (june 26, 2026)

Up early on a Friday I picked up Dave in Longmont and we rolled to Greeley Peak View skatepark. We had the place to ourselves for the first couple hours and then a few scooter kids came and did some laps. It was almost kind of chilly when we got there, but so hot by the time we left. Our warm up was slappy crooks over the puddle aka the death gap. Dave of course would go on to line it out with a switch crook over it. Kind of quickly I hopped on front 50 first try which is ultra rare for me and it felt good. Oh yeah, I had a setup change of aces on 8.5/14.25 and it would be good (except for bigflip later on). The video showcases most of the skating. We were both pretty winded at times so it was just easy to film each other. Dave’s lines are crazy good. The spine transfer is nuts. The grinds at full speed, all of it. I was pretty hyped on my line of the sw noseslide shove then tiny ollie then kickflip fakie. At one point I battled treflips when I should have just been trying b/s flip on the hip. Dave’s b/s flip was nuts. At the end Dave battled the bigspins on the hip and I tried bigflip on the bank but never got one. Really fun session. Dave is the man. Happy birthday Dave!

skate journal: arvada park with monico, maty and cass (june 24, 2026)

After a long day at work I rallied to meet Monico, Maty and Cass at Arvada park. When I got there they were going up the euro. Monico and I were beat. It was actually kinda cool seeing Monico struggle a bit. We basically ended up at the top of the park. I tried a line of front axle then crooks the granite ledge. Never got a good crook. Cass kinda struggled with the qp and hated it, but stuck around. monico and Maty battled flippers into all the banks at Arvada. It was crazy. Monico did kickflips first try. Then they both battled nollie heel, nollie flip, treflip, kickflip. Monico did it twice and it was funny seeing the sibling rivalry. Monico tried some other flippers after he did the line. Maty’s nollie heels were so cool, made them seem doable. Fun session, so great seeing Monico.

skate journal: broomfield fun with monico and more (june 23, 2026)

On a really nice night I went to Broomfield to meet Monico! Yes, Monico! Also Will, Ladd, Justin. The park was mobbed with people. Including a teenager that ran into me twice and said “That wasn’t my fault at all” ha ha. Oh well, skating was okay. i don’t remember much for me other than I was sore and didn’t do much. But at least I hucked halfcab heel noseslide and almost accidentally did it first try. Ladd was ripping, 2nd try kickflip over the bump to rail, bluntslides. Monico showed up and shredded like he does. It was cool seeing his warm up from little ollies to front feebles on the double set. Justin and Will showed up around the same time. Will is doing his ‘hard’ ledge tricks right away now. Justin demo mode was activated and awesome to watch.
